Matt Duncan (’99) has worked at the Rose Theatre in Brampton ON for 8 years, and as a full-time theatre technician there for 3 years. His job includes the daily operations of a performance theatre, mainly with the audio aspects. He also deals with Lighting, Stage Management, Rigging, Carpentry and System Maintenance. At the Rose, Matt has worked with many different styles of performance arts such as Ballet, Opera, Concerts, Orchestras, Musical Theatre and Corporate Events. Because the Theatre is owned and run by the city of Brampton, they also cater to a wide variety of city events such as New Years Day, Canada Day and other city events and festivals.
Artist that Matt has worked with include The Arkells, Sam Roberts, Big Wreck, Our Lady Peace, Arlo Guthire, Taj Mahal, Kim Mitchell, Jann Arden, Brent Butt, David Usher, Tom Cochrane, Burton Cummings, Gino Vannelli, Colin Mochrie, Michael Burgess, The Spoons, Saga, Spirit of the West, Charlie Musselwhite, John Lee Hooker, Dr John, Andrea Martin, 54-40, Jon Lovitz, and many many more. Matt says, “OIART gave me the ability to open up my ears and really start to listen.”
