About the Immersive
OIART Program.
Program Length
11 month (46 weeks) diploma program with over 1300 hours, 650 of which are hands-on.

The OIART Campus Experience
OIART has a completely unique campus that is constructed to fully optimize the student learning experience. The 15,000 square foot campus allows students to easily collaborate with each other and the faculty to realize their creative potential. You’ll find 8 professional fully equipped studios allowing for unprecedented access to audio technology. With a maximum of 68 students each year, you get more studio access and hands-on time than any other school.
OIART is the only school where the classrooms and lecture theatre contain fully functional studios. No lecture halls devoid of technology with just a white screen for class presentations here. OIART’s classrooms allow the students to see the technology in use and allow the classes to incorporate hands-on teaching.
OIART’s full time easily accessible instructors have offices fully equipped with audio technology for highly effective tutorial and mentoring sessions. In addition to multiple music recording studios, the campus has a live stage with full PA, lighting and video, Foley room, multiple editing suites, and an electronic music production studio. The campus is located in a quiet, affordable area of south London, accessible by public transportation, and easily accessed from highway 401 with free parking for all students and guests.

Sampling an Orchestra #oiart #yourfutureissound #orchestra
We had a blast getting to sample the UWO orchestra for content that will be incorporated in our Semester two Projects!
These students had to go above and beyond to create and build customs audio recording rigs that could be brought on stage and get up and running in less than 10 minutes. They were tasked with having a plan to sync each device using Timecode so we could mix everything in post production!
We took 4 @sounddevices Mix Pre 6’s and our 833 to capture various sections of the Orchestra.
Our BETSO Timecode Transceivers made sure we were all running in sync, and the student’s mic placement and technical knowledge was put to the test.

Today we’re heading out with some of our amazing @sounddevices equipment to record the @westernumusic Symphony Orchestra.
The sampling and recordings are being used for our second semester project and these students had to apply their microphone, timecode, signal flow, gain structure and location sound skills to prepare for this recording session.
