Marian Greksa - Alumni Spotlight
Jeremy Alves | January 14, 2016
Marian Greksa (’05) has consistently found a niche for herself in the audio industry since graduation. She has worked as an assistant engineer at The Farm Recording Studios and Hipposonic/Mushroom in Vancouver. She has circled the globe as an audio technician with Princess Cruises. She currently works for several different audio visual, production and lighting companies in Vancouver as a freelance sound, lighting and ground rigging technician.
Marian says, “OIART prepared me for the recording and live sound industry, but it also gave me the tools to adapt to situations in other areas of technical entertainment; be it lighting, video, stage management or rigging without the need for further schooling.”
Marian works for several companies including Riggit, where she works as crew chief, lead hand, concert stage hand, ground rigger, lighting and audio 2. She’s an audio engineer and lighting tech for Frischkorn/MEDIACO AV, 365 Productions, Freeman AV, Proshow AV, SWAV and Kian Show/Sound. She’s a lighting tech and operator for Christie Lites and works in the theatre, concert rigging and audio team with IATSE 118 local. She can also be seen working festivals and theatre installs. Whew!
