Humberto Lourenco - Alumni Spotlight

Humberto Lourenco (’12) came to our music and audio production course with extensive touring experience as a drum tech. With his new audio production skills gained at OIART, Humberto quickly found work as a live sound Mix engineer and System Technician at The PA Shop in London. He works with top acts constantly, and has mixed front of house or monitors for Buffy Sainte Marie, Classified, David Wilcox, Jerry Seinfeld, London Orchestra, Steven Page (BNL) and Tim Hicks amongst others. He has also acted as system tech for the Barenaked Ladies, Big Wreck, Billy Talent, Headstones, Keith Urban, Sammy Hagar, Serena Ryder, Rise Against, Rival Sons, Toto, The Trews plus “many other bands and their great engineers.”



Humberto says, “The best part of being a System Tech and Front of House engineer of a production company is that there is no dull moment. You are challenged every day with different projects – from mixing an 80+ input Orchestra or designing and deploying a system for an arena tour or mixing a world music festival on the fly with a couple of unique instruments you have never seen before. You also have the opportunity to bump into other OIART grads on the road. The support that OIART gives you is more then just caring.”
